I hardly doudbt that it will work.
And think about it, do your realy want to play guildwars with a controller? i mean you would have to have 8 buttons for skills alone :| and you would have to "tab" between enemies instead of clicking on the target you want. And now looking at the picture im sure you coudnt play guildwars with it, at least not good, 8 skills are the 4 buttons pleas the 4 shoulder buttons which leaves only the directional buttons you miss button for attacking without skill, targeting, etcetc i think you get my idea well enough, controller can go good for some games, racing ,shooting ( even know i love the mouse more cause you can actually move it where you want instead, of moving to left oops too far move to right, now move up now move right again) and some other games, just dont think guildwars is one of them. sorry for long post for a simply answer of no dont use controller, and i dont think it will work with guildwars (well) |

Yeah, not for Guild Wars. The game uses a lot of mouse point'n'click, which is pretty difficult to do with a normal gamepad/joystick..
I got a gamepad, and only games I've really used it is Silent Hill 2-4, since those were made for consoles, and the PC conversion is pretty "cheap" as the controls suck. Except on gamepad. |

It's probably not worth buying for Guild Wars. Judging from the link you posted, that controller will not be compatible by itself. It can be done, however, it is just alot of work to set up initially.
I have played Guild Wars with a Sony Dualshock2 since May,2005, but I had to enter all the hotkeys and mouse controls into KB/Mouse emulation software by hand. The software I use allows "virtual" joysticks as a button function, so I can effectively double the number of buttons I have available by holding this button and pressing another. For mouse control, I have a mapped button to increase the cusor speed 300%. I have never used point/click on my skillbar since I mapped the buttons. I don't believe playing Monk will work well, since you have to rapidly shift targets in your party, which is just much better with a mouse, or assigning party hotkeys. |

GW doesn't support a gamepad, so if you were planning on buying one solely for GW use, don't bother.
EDIT: Just read Mister B's post....I thought gw didn't support gamepads...guess i was wrong. |

Oh, and to the OP: that gamepad is a Phillips brand controller sold at Wal-Mart, I would strongly recommend against it(Phillips is a major name brand that makes lightbulbs and bad electronics, IMO), I would get Logitech, or you could use what I did, if you already have a dualshock: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...ducts_id=3176& You also need this, or something similar(Note:This IS freeware): http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key...%20Version.htm |

I agree it would be no good for GW.
I have got a Nostromo though, and I use that mostly for FPS,but if I wanted to I could use it for GW,I spose, but I have not really bothered to. http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=157024 You have to key in the moves you want to the relavant keys, but once done these are saved in a file,so you can put them on disk, and take them round a mates house to use,if you wanted. Its the nearest thing to a keyboard, and all under your finger tips. The base has like a sticky feel to it,and cannot be moved,no matter how hard the gameplay gets, but if you want to move it just pick it up. I have had mine for over 4 years ,and its still as good as the day I got it. The keys are nice ,and over all very hard wearing. Also this is caompatible for any game. I still use me keyboard for GW though . Last edited by Darkcraft; Aug 05, 2006 at 03:23 AM // 03:23.. |

The only online game I've ever seen someone use a controller for was City of Heroes. Some guy in my class used a gamepad and keyboard...he was pretty good with it. Personally I've always preferred mouse and keyboard when it comes to anything computer, especially first person shooters. I'll take the precision of a mouse with Half life over an xbox controller with Halo any day...thanks.
